2 days into April and already I have $200+ profit, I love 4 tabling the $11 SNGs at the moment, some good luck, but also some great calls that I am quite proud of. Reading poker books is finally paying off, my graph on sharkscope is starting to look respectable now.
Other good news is that people are startingto filter into Bettrick, lets hope that they click through the links and get the business earning money as it looks likely that we will allneed to sub in some more cash.
We now have around £750 worth of Free Bets on site with more to follow. Ireckon by the end of the month we'll have over £1k in free cash for people to get their hands on. This deosn't include the free goes on the bingo or casino bonus bagging that is possible on some sites.
I have spent the day chasing up affiliate status with a long list of new sites and am starting to get somewhere with quite a few of them.
Welcome to my mind.

March Summary and April Goals
March was a frustrating month in poker terms, I coped at the $22's and made a smallprofit, but didn't feel comfortable with variance and my bankroll. The internet connection problem probably cost me around $150, but despite this I managed to grind out $313 profit for the month.
In Bettrick terms March was a great month, we are so close to going live now and just need beta testers who can try everything out and earn themselves some free money.
April Goals:
1) $500 profit
2) Silver Star status on PokerStars
3) Bettrick opened and 20 people signed up.

York City Knights - A Team to Follow?
Spent the morning completing more work on Bettrick, I have been adding the offers and how to access them onto the forums, things are looking good. Just need to poke Andi with a sharp stick so that he gets his internet connected up at his new flat and gets on with the poker stuff.
The afternoon was spent watching York City Knights getting hammered by Halifax, 40-20. Still Halifax are a league above the knights so it was to be expected. They also rested a few players as they want to concentrate on the league and bounce back up with a promotion. The season tickets were useful and a great gift from the knights for all coaching work I do at Primary School level.
Speaking of which my team is through to the finals, to be held in may at the Knights ground, half time in a league game so the atmosphere should be good.
Poker profit this month is standing at $163 - still someway to go. I have dropped back to $10+1 and am now multi tabling them instead of the single $22's - When my stack is up to $1000 - I'll hit the $20 + 2's

Reporting Back for Duty
Finally t'internet problems have been sorted, unfortunately I insisted on tryingto play poker with a connection that was ..... well......it wasn't really a connection at all, so I have managed to drop quite a bit of cash. Still in profit for the month, but it isn't what it should be.
One other downer is that I have also dislocated my left knee and I am on crutches and wearing a splint, football is a funny old game. I simplycaught my studs in the grass as I turned and my knee popped. I now have 6 weeks off work. I should probably write that book that I have always wanted to write, instead I'll play far too much poker.

Poker, Up the Blues and Other Stuff.
After several days of dodgy internet connections recently and losing money at poker the connection has been quite stable, possibly because I have unplugged the phone. I have decided to move up to the $22 SnGs, I have now played four this month and have won 2 of them, recovering the money that I lost on the $11s and putting me $111 up for the month. Not sure how long I can keep this up, but it's a nice start to the level.
In other news, the Mighty Blues are playing Spuds today at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup, should be a good match and for once I'll be able to watch it as it isn't on Sky, it's on normal TV.
I am also buggering about with the blog getting an mp3 player sorted that plays more than one track, will be good to share (inflict) my taste in music on others.

Bettrick Beta 2
Bettrick has hit beta testing stage 2, and we've all managed to break it in as many ways as we can. Which is all good news as the problems are being addressed as we speak. I'm really looking forward to going live in the next few weeks and get people making money. It's such a simple idea too.
I'll have to start getting back into it as we have loads of sites that I haven't bonus blagged yet, plus with the bounty payment kick back will really make it worthwhile.
We'll be looking for beta testers soon, though I think US punters will struggle to take advantage as we are not supposed to refer them following all the changes etc. to the law.

Creative Writing
One reason for this blog was for me to write on, I don't want it to be part of some ego trip, but simply a place to put my thoughts down where I won't lose them and will perhaps get some constructive feedback. Yet for some reason I am sat here with stage fright.
All previous attempts at writing have been very private affairs, furtively scribbled into a notebook that has been carefully hidden, like an embarrassing elderly relative that urinates in public and likes to touch people in inappropriate places.
It's almost ironic that I spend my time encouraging children to write and not be afraid to put pen to paper yet I am so nervous myself.
Perhaps I should try those exercises that I encourage the kids to do to get myself going.
Word Association Brainstorming
The Beach
waves, sand, salt, seaweed, bucket, spade, castle, dunes, bikini, tan, sun, breeze, cliff, rocks, spray, seagulls, pebbles, pier, arcades, marram grass, kite, fish and chips, deckchairs,
This helps develop ideas for a scene.
The rain lashed the window, its wet fingers drumming hard enough to make the glass rattle in the frame. Sighing heavily Josh slumped an armchair, the television hissed and buzzed with static in the corner. It hadn't worked properly in days but he switched it on every morning with decreasing optimism.
Who's idea was it to holiday in Scarborough anyway? If it had been summer he could have understood, but February wasn't exactly sunbathing season. He could hear his dad whistling in the kitchen as he made breakfast, even the smell of bacon drifting through the 1970's style serving hatch couldn't cheer Josh up. No doubt he would be dragged out of the house into the rain to look at something of historical interest. Everyone else he knew was back at home playing on their PS3's or knocking about playing football or something, anthing but being stuck in a miserable, badly decorated terraced house in the wettest place in England.
Not sure where this is going yet, but I am sure that I'll find out as it goes on.
